Fred Deely of Vancouver, BC and Pop Place of Bellingham, Washington founded the Pacific Northwest Motorcycle Association (PNWMA) in 1931. This union produced affiliate relations with Mount Baker Motorcycle Club and the Greater Vancouver Motorcycle Club (GVMC). The PNWMA was initially created to avoid the American Motorcycle Association (AMA) racing restrictions and to coordinate their own member’s only races. This was an obvious success considering this is our 90th anniversary and we are running strong.

About PNWMA
Since 1931, the Pacific North West Motorcycle Association (PNWMA) has been committed to the growth of off-road motorcycling and the development of future racers. In addition to producing the annual PNWMA calendar of motorcycle events, they are the governing body that has facilitated generations of local motorcyle racing.
The PNWMA is known for hosting one of the oldest, gnarliest off-road racing series in Canada. In 1984, two clubs from the PNWMA hosted the first ‘Hare and Hound’ Series and now, more than six decades later we are still racing; as the BC Off-Road Championship Series (BCORCS).
About BCORCS
Our series is focused on promoting the sport through the development of rider skill on different terrain and through a class structure that allows growth and advancement. We have a spot for every ability, with classes ranging from Pee Wee beginner, Junior to Intermediate, Women’s- amateur, intermediate and expert, Veteran, Senior, Expert and Masters/Pro level. Our association and host clubs are stewards of the land and push for environmental awareness. We are dedicated to promoting a positive image off-road motorsport.
BCORCS has technical Coastal races, to open Interior courses, from grass tracks, deserts to the single-track woods, roots, rocks and logs, this series has it all. Races from Squamish to Castlegar, and historically from Bellingham to the Yukon. Each event is hosted by an individual host club and is a format of their choosing. Typically, the off-road events run the Hare Scramble format, held on a marked course over natural terrain, where riders try to complete as many laps as possible in a set time, with a Long Course (A Course) and a Short Course (B Course) option. In a Hare scramble, all the riders start in a row simultaneously, and the winner is whoever gets to the finish first. No staggered start, no time-trials, just every rider for themself until the end!
To be scored for BCORCS points, you must have an updated PNWMA Membership as well as an active Competition License.
